Rupam Kalita is a professional academic in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. He joined the Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology on January 19, 2026. He completed his B. Pharm in 2023 and subsequently earned his M. Pharm (Pharmacology) in 2025 from Himalayan Pharmacy Institute, Sikkim.
With a strong academic foundation, he is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students in the field of pharmaceutical science. He is committed to delivering quality education and fostering a strong conceptual and practical foundation in pharmaceutical sciences among his students.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has developed strong practical and analytical expertise in experimental pharmacology, preclinical research methodologies, and laboratory animal handling in accordance with ethical guidelines. His research interests encompass neuropharmacology, drug safety and toxicological evaluation, and the assessment of various pharmacological activities using in vivo and in vitro models. He also demonstrates a growing interest in network pharmacology and systems-based approaches to understand drug–target interactions, molecular pathways, and the multi-target mechanisms of therapeutic agents.
