Tutumoni Kalita joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, as an Assistant Professor in April 2022. She is currently engaged in teaching and continuously enhancing her expertise in core curriculum subjects, including Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry, and Medicinal Chemistry. She began her teaching career in 2020 and has previously served as a Lecturer at Royal Global University, Guwahati, and as an Assistant Professor at the Regional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guwahati.
Dr. Kalita obtained her Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry with a focus on anti-Alzheimer’s drug design from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University. She completed her M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same institution, where her major research project involved drug design, along with in silico and in vitro evaluation of synthetic derivatives for antimalarial activity. She earned her B. Pharm degree from the Radharaman Group of Institutes, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
She has also gained practical exposure in drug testing and analysis through training at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Bhopal. Dr. Kalita has contributed to several publications in reputed journals as a co-author. Additionally, she holds two Indian patents registered in 2023: “Digital Writing Pad for Medical Recording” and “Electroencephalography (EEG) Monitoring System.”
Beyond her academic and research pursuits, Dr. Kalita has a keen interest in the arts, particularly in dancing and music. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation, she aspires to make significant contributions to teaching, research, publications,and the broader pharmaceutical field.
