Manash Pratim Lahkar is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering with research interests in Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models, and low-resource language technologies, particularly for Assamese and other underrepresented languages.
He completed his Master’s from Assam Engineering College and his doctoral research at Tezpur University, focusing on language technologies for Assamese, including question answering, language modeling, and information retrieval. His broader research interests include Generative AI, Information Retrieval, Question Answering, Named Entity Recognition, and Deep Learning.
He has published 8 journal articles, 6 conference papers, and 3 book chapters, including several publications in Q1 and Q2 journals. He also serves as a reviewer for the Q1 journal Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer) and multiple international conferences. He is an active technical writer on Medium, where he writes about Large Language Models, Generative AI, and Artificial Intelligence.
