Mr. Dheeman Bhuyan is a teacher and researcher in the field of mechanical design, biomechanical design, biomimetics and biofluid dynamics. He began his journey at the Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT), Guwahati in September 2018, where he joined as an assistant professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering.Mr. Bhuyan was earlier associated with the BIT Mesra Polytechnic as a guest lecturer and RNB Cements Pvt. Ltd as Engineer (Mechanical Maintenance).
Mr. Bhuyan hasconducted his doctoral research at the National Institute of Technology Meghalaya and post graduate degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Jharkhand with MHRD Scholarships.
His doctoral research focuses on blood flow regimes in the human body and the design and development of devices and techniques for use during extracorporeal circulation. The outcomes of his research work include new, proposed surgical techniques and medical devices aimed at improving the quality of life of patients. With almost a decade of experience in industry, teaching and research, Mr. Bhuyan has research interests in the domains of biofluid dynamics, biomechanical and biomimetic design.
Mr Bhuyan has multiple publications in peer reviewed international journals and books. He is also a reviewer for multiple journals such as Physics of Fluids and Materials Today: Proceedings. He also has six patents and two designs registered.
