He studied Master of Science in Chemistry in Cotton College, Guwahati under Gauhati University. His specialization in M.Sc. was Organic Chemistry. His field of interest, among others, is qualitative as well as quantitative analyses of both inorganic and organic compounds. He is a life member of UNESCO Association, Guwahati.
