Biography

Shahnaz Alom joined the Department of Pharmacology of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Tezpur as an Assistant Professor on 1st October 2021. At present, she is teaching the curriculum courses of B. Pharm and D. Pharm such as Pharmacology and Human Anatomy and Physiology. After doing M. Pharm., she joined the mentioned institute of GCU and currently,she has teaching experience of 1 year and 11 months. Her area of work is Ethnopharmacology, molecular biology, molecular pathway-related studies, computer-aided drug design, in vitro and in vivoanti-diabetic studies, novel natural product identification and characterization, novel drug design and evaluation for Diabetes.

Currently, she is doing her Ph.D. at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University, Assam under the guidance of Prof.Bibhuti B. Kakoti.She has done a Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacology from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University, Assam with a major project in “Phytopharmacological evaluation of Enydrafluctuans Lour. with reference to its anti-oxidant and anti-diabetic potential”.She is agraduate witha Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University, Assam, and completed hergraduation with a project in “Docking based repositioning study of some selected marketed phytoconstituents against DHFR of Plasmodium falciparum and required hour of industrial training from Ozone Pharmaceutical Ltd. Guwahati, Assam. She was a silver medallist during her B. Pharm. (2015-19 batch) and a gold medallist during her M. Pharm (2019-21 batch) from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dibrugarh University, Assam. Till now, she has published 12 journals in Scopus-indexedjournals (review) and 3 book chapters under reputed publishers like Springer Nature and Taylor and Francis. Moreover, she has presented several posters and seminarsata national level and one seminar at an international level.

Apart from academics, she is good atcultural, literature, and creative activities. She has published two departmental wall magazines as a coordinator and organized many cultural events in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tezpur Campus, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam till now. Also, she has guided many students of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tezpur Campus, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam to present postersand seminars at the national level seminars and published scientific journals in Scopus-indexed journals (review).
