Dr. Sampurna Bhuyan joined the Department of Business Administration, as an Assistant Professor on July 16, 2009 and also is being placed as HoD(i.c),Department of Economics, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam from 1st April, 2023. Her area of interest covers Mathematical Economics, Econometric Methods & Model Building, Quantitative Techniques for Management, Managerial Economics, Research Methods for Qualitative and Quantitative approaches, Financial Economics, Environmental Economics, Public Finance & Policies and International Business. She has done her M. Phil from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in the area of Micro finance. She has completed her PhD in Health Care Economics from the department of Economics, Gauhati University. Apart from this she has completed short -term certificate course on Psychology. She has qualified State Level Eligibility Test (SET/SLET) in Economics.
She is accustomed with various software use namely SPSS, STATA and R. At present, she is supervising PhD scholars under GCU. Her research activities include many national as well as international conferences abroad along with a vast publication of scientific research papers in journals of repute. She has participated in various faculty development programmes organized by esteemed institutions like IIM, Shillong, IIT- Guwahati, and so on.
She is passionate about academic writing along with painting & designing stuffs. While she is a determined and goal oriented person with a broad vision of contributing to the society at large; at the same time she is a nature lover and has served the institution as a coordinator, Eco Club from 2017-2018 to 2022-2023.
Her contribution as an Academic Coordinator is manifold. She has played a pivotal role in academic matters of the university and is committed to serve the community for its development.
