Dr. Sagnika Das is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Legal Studies, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati and her work spans through Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, ADR, Public and Private International Law. She completed her LL.M. in 2019 and has completed her Ph. D. in 2025 from the University of North Bengal in Socio-economic Rights. Her research focuses on the evolving interpretations of socio-economic rights within India’s legal framework. A key dimension of her scholarship examines the concept of Transformative Constitutionalism and its application to socio-economic rights through landmark judicial rulings. Additionally, her work investigates environmental governance, including legal mechanisms for conserving Ocean and the ecosystem existing therein. Her broader research explores interdisciplinary approaches to socio-economic protection, such as leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) alongside Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as integrating modern digital technologies to support the right to health. Through her research, she contributes to contemporary discussions on constitutional reform, environmental protection, and human rights advocacy.
