Dr. Pallavi Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati, where she has been serving since August 2014. Prior to joining the university, she worked as a Guest Lecturer at Jorhat Engineering College.
She completed her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Gauhati University in 2026, with research focused on enhancing the performance of renewable energy systems, particularly hybrid photovoltaic–thermoelectric (PV–TEG) technologies.She obtained her M.Tech in Energy Technology from Tezpur University in 2014, graduating as the Gold Medalist of her batch with a CGPA of 9.16 and receiving the prestigious ONGC Scholarship for academic excellence. Her M.Tech research formed part of the UK–India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) collaborative project with the University of Nottingham, resulting in several research publications, including a Springer book chapter..
She completed her B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College under Dibrugarh University in 2010 with First Class and was awarded the Directorate of Technical Education Merit Scholarship. Dr. Roy’s research interests include renewable energy systems, photovoltaic technologies, thermoelectric generators, phase change materials for thermal management and sustainable energy solutions. She has authored numerous research papers in reputed international journals, including Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals, IEEE conference proceedings, and Springer book chapters..
She has presented her research at several national and international conferences and has been invited to serve as a Session Chair at the IEEE Guwahati Subsection Conference (GCON 2026) held at IIT Guwahati. She also served as a Panelist in the Focus Group Discussion on “Solarisation Potential of Rural Feeders in Assam,” organized by the School of Agro and Rural Technology, IIT Guwahati.
An active academician, Dr. Roy teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Renewable Energy Engineering, Illumination Engineering, Electrical Measurements, Advanced Electrical Measurements, Basic Electrical Engineering, and allied subjects. She has successfully coordinated numerous Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) under TEQIP, Short-Term Training Programmes (STTPs), workshops, internships, industrial visits, outreach activities, and student development initiatives. She has also contributed to NBA and NAAC documentation and institutional academic development.
Committed to continuous professional development, she has completed multiple AICTE Faculty Development Programmes, Universal Human Values (UHV-I & UHV-II) training programmes, several NPTEL-SWAYAM certification courses in renewable energy and sustainable power systems, and specialized training programmes conducted by NITTTR. She is also the recipient of the Mission10X Dale Carnegie Certificate in High-Impact Teaching Skills.
Dr. Roy is a life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), UNESCO association and actively engages in research collaborations, academic mentoring, curriculum development, and outreach activities promoting sustainable energy technologies.
