Dr. Jyoti Mishra is currently working as a Guest Faculty in the Department of English and Foreign Languages, Girijananda Choudhury University. She has completed her B.A. from Handique Girls’ College, Guwahati and her M.A in English from Tezpur Central University where she was the gold medallist for her batch. She went on to do her M.Phil from University of Hyderabad and her PhD from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology-Madras. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Of Gods, Men and the Politics of the “Chosen”: Competing Masculinities and Nationalism in Religio-Mythological Hollywood Epics, 2010-2016”. She works in the area of Popular Culture Studies, Film Studies, Gender Studies, and Popular Geopolitics and has presented her research in national and international conferences. She has previously worked as an Assistant Professor in R.B.V.R. Reddy Women’s College, Hyderabad.
