Dr. Adarsh Pradhan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), Guwahati, with more than 18 years of academic experience, having served the Institution continuously since July 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), his Master of Technology in Information Technology from Tezpur University, and his Ph.D. from the Department of Information Technology, Gauhati University. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Healthcare Computing, Medical Image Analysis, and Speech Technologies. Dr. Pradhan is a strong proponent of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and has consistently demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum delivery, and learning outcome attainment across undergraduate, postgraduate, and working professional programs. His teaching portfolio includes core computer science subjects, advanced programming, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and project-based courses.
He has played a pivotal role in institutional quality assurance and accreditation, serving for several years as Departmental and Institute-Level NBA Coordinator, IQAC Member, NAAC Feedback System Coordinator, and ERP-based OBE Implementation Lead. His contributions have been central to accreditation preparedness, academic audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
An active researcher in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Healthcare Computing, Image Processing, and Speech Technologies, Dr. Pradhan has authored 15+ research publications in reputed journals and conferences and contributed 7 book chapters to UG and PG curricula of recognized universities. He has successfully completed four TEQIP-III funded research projects, serving as Principal Investigator for two projects (Diabetic Retinopathy Detection and Lung Cancer Detection using CT scans) and as Co-Principal Investigator for two interdisciplinary projects.
He is also deeply engaged in student mentorship and innovation, having guided multiple teams in AICTE Smart India Hackathon, including national-level winners, and coordinated numerous hackathons, internships, and technical events. As a resource person, he regularly contributes to faculty development programs, summer internships, and industry-oriented training initiatives in collaboration with premier institutions.
