Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, GCU had organized an industrial visit to the students on November 7, 2023. A Total of 28 BMLT 1 st Semester students along with faculty Mr. Prayash Borah, Assistant Professor and Dr. Vidhya Srinivasan, Professor and Head, Department of MLT, School of Allied Health Sciences visited the Common Biomedical waste management treatment facility (CBMWTF), of Fresh Air private Ltd at Chandrapur. The Engineers of the unit briefed GCU students about the collection, segregation, treatment and disposal of biomedical waste generated from Health care facility of Assam. Clear and effective waste segregation, adherence to state and national regulation of biomedical waste management treatment demonstration was given to the students. As a part of their curriculum, Students were sensitized on biomedical waste management. The core purpose of this industrial visit is to make student understand the commitment to safety and environmental responsibility as future health care professionals
