The Association of Indian Universities ( AIU), – an apex level inter-university organization of the country has been working towards raising the standard and quality of higher education and research in the Universities of the country. In an initiative to catalyse the process of facilitating the member universities in complying with the requirements of accreditation, ranking, forging industry-academia interfacing, internationalization of higher education, etc., the AIU has selected a few senior academics of the country for empanelling as the Academic Consultants of the AIU. Further, the AIU in its meeting held on 23-24 April, 2023, has approved the recommendation of the Empowered Committee, constituted to nominate a few eminent academicians of the country for empanellment as national Academic Consultants. Eminent academician , Professor Alak K Buragohain, former Vice Chancellor Dibrugarh University, and presently, Chancellor Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati, is also empanelled as Academic Consultant of the AIU on recommendation of the Empowered Committee.
