Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU) – Summer Internship Programmes 2025, offering a diverse range of courses across disciplines. These internships aim to enhance students’ practical knowledge, research aptitude, and professional skills through real-world application of theoretical concepts.

1. Department of Mathematics

Start Date: 1st June 2025
Duration: 4–8 weeks

Courses Offered: 

2. Department of Political Science

Duration: 1 month

Course Title: Policy Research and Analysis

Learning Outcomes:

• Strong analytical and research skill development
• Better understanding of policies, political processes, and institutions
• Real-world policy research experience

3. Department of History
Internship Title: Documentation of Religious Places of Worship in the City of Guwahati

Duration: 16 June – 15 July 2025

Registration Fee: Rs. 500

Eligibility: UG and PG students from various colleges/universities

6. Department of Business Administration

Duration: 2 weeks (16 June – 28 June 2025)

Target Audience: UG students from all disciplines

Focus Areas: Managerial communication, essential tools, team collaboration

7. Departments of Mechanical Engineering

Internship Title:

1. Reverse Engineering
2. Subtractive Manufacturing

Duration: 4 weeks (17 June -14 July, 2025 and 1 July – 28 July, 2025)

Target Audience: Diploma students, B. Tech students, BA/BSc students/ MSc student)

8. Computer Science and Engineering
Title: “4-week Summer Internship Program on AI/ML, Cloud Computing and Full Stack
Development.”
Duration: 15th June – 15th July 2025
Eligibility: Diploma, UG, PG, and Ph.D. (pursuing/completed) in science, technology, or
engineering
Fee: ₹1000
Application Deadline: 13th June 2025
Internship Starts: 15th June 2025

9. Department of Physics UG/PG

For scientific writing while we use modern word processors such as MICROSOFT OFFICE we use
the process WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). In such word processor we use too
much of GUI (Graphical User Interfaces). But in LaTeX by using commands we can have that
output which we get from WYSIWYG.

At the end of this course, a student is able to understand

• Document Structures : Understanding the preamble, main document and different document
classes.
• Basic Syntax : Learning core LaTeX commands, environments and packages.

• Formatting Documents:

1. Text : Formatting text with fonts, sizes, styles and colours.
2. List and sections : Creating bulleted lists, numbered lists and organising content with
chapters, sections and subsections.
3. Page Layout : Understanding page styles, headers, footers and page numbering.
and use it to construct
4. Tables and figures : Creating tables and figures, including captions.
5. Mathematical Typesetting : Writing mathematical expressions, including fractions,
superscripts, subscripts and symbols.

Hands on Practice of Origin Software for Result Analysis
At the end of this course, a student is able to:

11. Departments of Economics

As per NEP 2020, the internship programme offered by the department of Economics, GCU is of 130 hours during the month of June -July. The focus of the Internship is to promote good research based skills like conducting qualitative and quantitative research, writing reports ,developing questionnaires, analysing data with Software like SPSS, R and Python.

12. Departments of Chemistry 

The Department of Chemistry, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam is offering Internship Programme in “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis in different fields of Chemistry” for students pursuing Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes in Chemistry.
