On the Occasion of World Diabetes Day 14th November 2024, School of Allied Health Sciences has organized a Talk and an Inter College E poster Competition with a theme of “Diabetes and Well Being. The program Started with welcome speech by Dr.Vidhya Srinivasan, Professor & Head, School Of Allied Health Sciences. Dr.Atul Kumar Agarwal, the Guest of Honour was felicitated by President, SSA. Dr.Atul Kumar Agarwal, Lab director, Marwari Hospitals Gave a talk on Diabetes. He highlighted the Theme of World Diabetes Day and briefed about the diabetes its classification, Lab diagnosis, understanding the risk factors and symptoms and also complication of diabetes.
After the talk, Inter college E poster competition started. Undergraduate students from various colleges and university across Guwahati participated in the competition. Around 18 posters were presented. Students from Regional college of Paramedical Health Sciences bagged the first prize , Regional college of Health Sciences bagged Second prize, Nilachal College of Allied Health Sciences bagged Third Prize.
Students of MLT has also formed Human Blue circle signifying the logo of World diabetes day as an activity. Celebrating World diabetes day helps to inculcate the social responsibility in the student community as a future Health care professional. WDD program at GCU highlighted the awareness about diabetes, promoting Healthy Life style, prevention and management of Diabetes.
