Valedictory session: Following the eleven technical sessions held throughout the two days, the international conference on the past, present and future of Asia came to a close with a final valedictory session. Prof. Shantanu Chakravarty, Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences, expressed gratitude towards the honoured guests and participants from various parts of Asia for making the conference a success. Dr. Bondita Baruah of English and Foreign Languages Department, GCU, summed up the two-day proceedings in her conference report.
The participants from Russia and India gave their valuable feedback on the conference, commending the wide range of topics addressed in the two days, including crucial themes such as climate change and globalization. Finally, Dr. Siddharth Shankar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University, Arunachal Pradesh, delivered a stirring valedictory address.
