On the occasion of NSS Day, 2024 and World Pharmacist Day,2024 the NSS Unit- 1, Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam conducted a Street Play off campus at Godhuli Bazar, Azara and on campus at GCU campus on te theme “ Pharmacy Without pharmacist: Endangering Human Health” to spread awareness among the people regarding the menace of dispensing of medicine by an unqualified person or a mere layman. The play stressed the importance about the requirement of a ‘Registered Pharmacist’ in the pharmacy premises. An appeal was made among the masses present there highlighting the responsibilities and duties of a customer while buying medicines from a pharmacy. The appeal was summed up by displaying various slogan at the end of the play. The play was performed by the volunteers of NSS Unit-1 and students of School of Pharmaceutial Sciences, Guwahati, GCU under supervision of Dr. Basab Das, Program Coordinator, NSS, GCU, Dr. Trishna Das, Program Officer, NSS Unit-1, GCU, Ms Priyanka Choudhury, Coordinator for Street Play event and Mr Deepjyoti Goswami, Superviser for the play.
