Pharmacy students and Ph.D. scholars of GCU(India) gained valuable insights from a, educational lecture delivered by faculty member and scientists from Mari State University (Russia).

On 27th December 2024, as part of the ongoing educational lecture series between Girijananda Chowdhury University (India) and Mari State University (Russia), a professor from Mari State University successfully delivered a lecture that provided an enriching academic experience for the pharmacy students and young faculty of Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), India. This international collaboration sought to foster knowledge exchange and inspire the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and educators.

The session featured a compelling lecture by Dr. Mikhail V. Dubinin, a distinguished Professor from the Department of Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Microbiology at Mari State University. Dr. Dubinin delivered an in-depth presentation on the topic “Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: Mechanism and Possible Approaches to Correction.” His lecture delved into the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving mitochondrial dysfunction in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), offering valuable insights into the disease pathology. Furthermore, he outlined innovative therapeutic strategies that hold promise for addressing these dysfunctions, shedding light on potential advancements in the management of DMD.

The audience, comprising GCU’s pharmacy students and young faculty members, engaged enthusiastically in discussions, benefiting from Dr. Dubinin’s expertise and global perspective. This successful academic initiative not only enhanced participants’ understanding of cutting-edge research but also strengthened ties between the two institutions, fostering opportunities for future collaborations in education and research.
