Celebration of International Yoga Day at GCU Tezpur Campus

Girijananda Chowdhury University, Tezpur Campus in collaboration with NSS Unit-3 celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025, promoting the importance of yoga for physical and mental well-being. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasized the interconnectedness of human health and the health of our planet, underscoring yoga’s role in achieving harmony with nature and oneself.
The university was honoured to welcome Mr. Hare Krishna Das, an esteemed yoga practitioner, as the invited guest and instructor which was also felicitated by Prof. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, Principal of the SOPS, GCU-Tezpur campus. Mr. Das led the participants through a series of yoga asanas, breathing techniques, and meditation practices, while sharing insights on the holistic benefits of yoga.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff members along with a vibrant group from Rangapara College, who joined in to celebrate the program.

The program was coordinated by Ms. Arzoo Newar, Assistant Professor, in collaboration with NSS Unit 3. Their combined efforts ensured a well-organized and inspiring session for all attendees.

The celebration served as a reminder of yoga’s power to unite individuals in the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle and a sustainable, peaceful world.
