A One Day Visit to GCU AICTE-IDEA Lab was organized for the students of 6th Semester from the Department of Mechanical Engineering from Assam Enginnering Institute, Chandmari. The students were assisted by Ms. Mala Das (HOD, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, AEI) and two Instructors from the Department. During the visit, the participants were provided a glimpse of the equipments in the Laboratory.
Mr. Bhabajit Baruah & Mr. Probodh Barman discussed and demonstrated the working and functioning of the CO2 Laser Cutter and Engraver and the Wood Router as a part of Subtractive Manufacturing at the IDEA Lab Extension Part. Mr. Baruah further exposed the students with 3D Printing, Vinyl Plotter Machine, Sublimation Machine and 3D Scanner motivating participants for cutting edge technologies available in the IDEA Lab. The participants further were assisted by Mr. Tridib Roy for demonstrating on PCB Machine and introducing other Electronics Components. During the visit, the participants could explore numerous aspects of modern technologies including types, applications, the software used in CAD and CAM. The visit met its aims and left participants eager to learn more about and apply these technologies in the future.
