Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU) initiated a Computer Literacy Drive in nearby schools/orphanages, facilitating the prospects of a more promising future. The third phase of the drive was effectively completed on the 14th of October, 2023, in two distinct organizations.
The University generously contributed five sets of desktop computers to Assam Sishu Kalyan Sadan, Sundarbari (Jalukbari), and Dharapur M.V. School (Dharapur). During the ceremony, Mr. Abhinandan Kalita and Ms. Gargi Kar Purkayastha, Assistant Professors, Dept. of ECE, GCU, presented the computers to the President of Assam Sishu Kalyan Sadan. Dr. Dipankar Saha, Registrar of GCU, presented the computers to the Headmaster of Dharapur MV school.
The event was undertaken by the faculty members and students of the Department of ECE and Department of Sociology & Social Work to promote digital empowerment and provide the younger generation with the necessary skills to succeed in contemporary society. Moreover, the University has also promised to voluntarily give computer-related training to the young budding minds of these organizations. This technological advancement will undoubtedly revolutionize the educational domain, enabling pupils to attain unprecedented knowledge and accomplishment.
