BA in History is a four-year undergraduate programme designed as per the provisions of NEP, 2020. The course structure focuses on a comprehensive curriculum comprising World History, History of India and the History of Assam to enhance the theoretical and analytical skills of the students and understand historical processes. The course is intended to provide students with a thorough understanding of different historical events in global history, national and regional history. The course will enable students to understand the evolution of civilisations, art, culture, societies, economies, political developments and different debates in History from pre-historic to the present times.
10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised board.
Graduates in History can opt for diverse career options, like:
Teaching and research in schools, colleges and universities
A professional historian
Policy making under several government organizations and ministries
