An adventurous and enthusiastic trip to Thailand was organised for the students of MBA 1st semester (2023-25) batch during the month of February accompanied by two energetic faculty members Dr. Junumoni Das and Dr. Dhruva Jyoti Sharma Sir. It was on 22nd February when the flight took off from LGBIA Borjhar along with the 27students and two faculty members and reached Don Mueng International Airport at 03.55 hrs. I.C.T.
The trip starts with the visit to the famous ‘Wat Arun temple’ – the temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. It was followed by a scheduled Program at Asian Institute Technology (AIT), Thailand on the very next day. All of them have reached the AIT at around 09.45 hrs. I.C.T. The team of two faculty members and the 27 students were welcomed by Prof. Pradeep Narayan Dash, who is one of the designated personalities in AIT, then they have proceeded to their conference room, where Prof. Dash gave us a brief introduction about the AIT. Prof. Dash narrated that the Thai culture had familiar resemblance with Tai – Ahom culture, so it also follows some Hindu ancient mythologies of Ramayana and Mahabharata. The current king of Thailand is Vajiralongkorn, the tenth monarch of the chakri dynasty, at aged 64 is also known as Rama X. The discussion was very fruitful and high yielding to the students, during which some Thai Snacks along with tea and coffee were served to all. He further added some interesting points about School of Engineering and Technology, School of Environmental and Climate Change, School of Commerce and Management, where various courses are offered by them. Students from Australia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, etc. where every gender is treated equally irrespective of being male, female and equal importance were given to the third – gender as like others. After that our respected madam Dr. Junumoni Das gave a brief on behalf of the Girijananda Chowdhury University and felicitated Prof. Pradeep Narayan and Prof. Tennzing with a token of appreciation. After long haul of the conference, they had a photo session with both the AIT professors and our group. They had an extension of roaming the entire campus with nice and beautiful ambience.
On the next day, they went to Pattaya city through bus which was nearly about two and half hrs. journey from Bangkok. The program was scheduled to visit coral island and explore its scenic beauty and indulge in its exotic activities like jet skiing, sea walking, parasailing, banana boat ride etc. They had the experience of watching the Alcazar Cabaret Show program, where transgender artists show their skills and talents in a large pool of audience. The main motive of this tour was to visit the famous Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and Thammasat University, providing us a fruitful and rich experience for our future growth and prospects. The trip ends with a successful landing at LGBIA, Borjhar after a week of fun experience and exposure to a new world of dreams and learning.
