Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam enthusiastically congratulates Mr. Abhishek Ghosh, a 2nd Year M.Pharm student, for his outstanding achievements in securing the 1st Best Poster Award at the three-day National Seminar on ‘Nanotechnology in Biotherapeutics: Advancement in drug discovery, development, and delivery systems.’ The seminar, organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Dibrugarh University, Assam (India) from November 16th to 18th, 2023, was supported by the Department of Science and Technology- Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (DST-PURSE), Govt. of India. Mr. Ghosh’s poster, titled ‘Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Potentilla fulgens root extract and evaluation of its anti-diabetic foot ulcer activity: Mechanistic role of connective tissue biomarkers in the healing process,’ stood out among the nationwide entries, earning him the top spot in the competition. Mr. Ghosh is a postgraduate scholar working currently under the guidance of Prof. Damiki Laloo. In addition, Mrs. Madhuchandra Lahan, a Ph.D. scholar under the supervision of Prof. Bhanu P. Sahu, showcased excellence by securing the 2nd best Oral presentation during the event on the title “Development and evaluation of PGLA-PEG-LHRH nanoconjugates for the site-specific delivery of curcumin to lung cancer cells”. Ms. Lahan has been working under Prof. Sahu’s laboratory on the DST-nanomission project sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Govt, of India. The university congratulates all the award recipients and extends special appreciation to both supervisors for their expert guidance, contributing significantly to the university’s advancement in Research and Development within the region.
