Debananda Chowdhury (Bubul) son of Late Girijananda Chowdhury and Founder Vice President of the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society breathed his last on 2nd March 2024 at the Apollo International Hospital, Guwahati.
He was born on 5th October 1950 at Guwahati and started his early schooling at Don Bosco School Guwahati. Later he completed his studies at Tezpur.
Debananda Chowdhury had also donated his land to the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society for the establishment of the Girijananda Chowdhury University at Azara, Guwahati. He lived a life filled with love for farming among his cows, horses, ducks at his farm. He also was very fond of dogs and kept several of them at his home at Chowdhury Tilla, Dispur.
He leaves behind his wife, two brothers, a sister and a daughter amongst many other family members.
His last rites will be performed on 3rd March 2024 at 2:30 pm at his own residence at Chowdhury Tilla, Opposite Assam Secretariat, G S Road, Guwahati -781006
