Dr Minakshi Gogoi is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Girijananda Chowdhury University(GCU) in Azara, Guwahati, Assam. She obtained her M.Tech in Information Technology (2005) and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering (2015) from the dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, Tezpur University, Tezpur under the supervision of Professor Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharyya. Presently she is serving as the Head of the Department of the Computer Science & Engineering Department at GIMT, GCU Guwahati. Her research areas include Biometrics authentication, Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing and Multispectral Data analysis. She has published 23 research papers in International/ National Journals, and conferences. She has also served as a reviewer of many internationally reputed journals like “Sensing and Imaging (SSTA), Springer”, “International Journal of Speech Technology”, Springer, Transactions on Asian and Low-Resource Language Information Processing (ACM), etc.
She has authored a book “Biometric Promaneekorion”- A reference book on Assamese language about Biometric authentication jointly with Prof. Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharyya under the grant from the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology, MHRD, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of India.( ISBN: 978-81-935387-0-8, First Edition: 2018), published by Tezpur University. She has also many book chapter contributions in different study materials design, Conference proceedings etc.
Her research areas include Image processing, Artificial Intelligence, Biometric authentication Multispectral Data analysis etc. Presently under her supervision four(two from ASTU, enrolled on January, 2019 and two from GCU, enrolled on January 2023 at GCU) numbers of research scholars have been carrying their Ph.D. work. She have been contributing many of BE/B.Tech and six numbers of M.Tech students by guiding in their final year project work under their course curriculum and a few students paper publishing.
She have also carried and completed two Sponsored/Sanctioned Project works -(i) “ Design of an automated tool for detection and verification of purity of Assam Silk” under the scheme Research and Promotion Scheme , funded by AICTE in the year 2018-19 and (ii) “ Design of an automated tool for verification of purity of Muga Silk” under the scheme, Innovation, Technology Generation and Awareness of Science & Technology Division, funded by Assam Science and Technology Environment Council(ASTEC) in the year 2019.
Her professional body memberships include Associate Member, The Institute of Engineers (India) and Life Member, The Indian Society for Technical Education(ISTE).
