Biography

Dr. Ashis Kumar Goswami joined the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Girijananda Chowdhury University in April 2022 as an Assistant Professor. With a profound dedication to education, he brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the realm of pharmaceutical sciences.

With a strong foundation in academics, Dr. Goswami plays a pivotal role in imparting knowledge to students. His current role involves teaching a spectrum of subjects, including Herbal Drug Technology, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry in B.Pharm, and Phytochemistry and Industrial Pharmacognostical Technology in M.Pharm. His commitment to academia extends beyond the classroom, as he contributes over four years of experience in the academic domain, enriching the educational journey of aspiring pharmacists.

Dr. Goswami’s research endeavours are equally remarkable. His Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, awarded by the prestigious Dibrugarh University, stands as a testament to his dedication. Notably, he received the coveted Young Scientist Fellowship from the Department of Health Research, Govt. of India during his stint at Dibrugarh University. He completed his M. Pharm specialization in Pharmacognosy from Dibrugarh University with extensive exploration of the analgesic and anti-inflammatory potential of Coptis teeta.

With a holistic approach to his field, Dr. Goswami’s accomplishments extend beyond academia. A passionate traveller, he embarks on journeys that intertwine his academic pursuits with his love for exploration. His mission to uncover ethnomedicinal practices unique to specific regions demonstrates his commitment to bridging traditional knowledge with modern pharmaceutical advancements. In 2022, his dedication was rewarded with the International Travel Grant by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, allowing him to attend the International Conference of High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
